Writing Tips

James Patterson Teaches Writing is a great class provided by Masterclass.com. For $90, you get 22 lessons. Each lesson is a video of James Patterson talking to you about a writing-related subject. It comes across as personal; as if you bumped into him on the street, and he invited you to sit down and have some questions answered over a drink.

Writing Tools

• Scrivener by Literature and Latte is a phenomenal writing software for around $50 (there are occasional sales).
• Randy Ingermanson has an effective story planning tool using his Snowflake Method, with software available to assist, for about $50. You can also sign up for his free Advanced Fiction Writing newsletter, full of encouragement and writing tips.
